Remain active. Walking and exercising increase blood circulation.
Keep your back straight. Good posture improves circulation. For more information consult Module 6 entitled 'Healthy Activities'.
Repeat the leg, feet and pelvic exercices several times a day. You will find more information in Module 6.
Lie down often every day with your legs elevated for 10 to 15 minutes. Use pillows or cushions so that your legs are higher than your heart.
Avoid standing for long periods. Sit with your feet elevated each day.
If you work seated, change position frequently. A stool may help. Get up and walk around for a few minutes every hour.
Avoid crossing your legs.
Rest and sleep on your left side.
Avoid tight clothing and knee or ankle stockings with wide elastic bands.
