Choose a warm room and with no draft.
Spread out a large towel to lay the baby on.
Take off your rings, watch, and other jewellery.
Wash your hands and fill the basin with lukewarm water - not hot.
Test the water with your wrist or elbow.
Start at the top and work your way down to the feet.
Use only clear water when washing your baby's face.
Use a mild soap on the rest of the body and be sure to rinse well.
Be sure to rinse the creases on the neck, groin, and legs.
After the bath, wrap your baby in a warm towel and dry carefully.
Avoid using baby powder as it can be breathed in by the baby.
