Swaddle the baby in a light blanket (i.e. receiving blanket). Keep the baby's head and neck uncovered.
Lay the baby on his or her back in a safe place, such as the crib, close the door and leave the room.
Take a few minutes to calm down. Only return to the room with the baby once you have calmed down.
If possible get someone you trust to take care of the baby while you leave the house to relax a little.
Accept help offered from family and friends. If you need a break, ask for help.
Find someone you can talk with about your baby crying continuously. Talking about it will help you get through this difficult time.
